Minute Licks #6: Seconds Sequences with alternate and downpicking

Let's keep the Vinnie Moore streak going with this 2nds sequence. Vinnie often uses ascending sequences in a downward direction, e.g playing a diatonic 2nd interval from C# to D, then down to a B then up to the C# and so on.

To give it the feel of Vinnie's first couple of albums, I pull back from 16th notes to 8th notes, and switch from Alternate Picking to Downstrokes only for effect. I mute the latter, and slow my tempo a little too, to really let the listener know that the run is coming to an end. Try this in your picking runs for good effect. Palm muting towards the end and unmuting the last note also helps this sound.
